Food combining is a method of eating
certain foods together and avoiding other
combinations to improve digestion.
Research by physicians since the late
1800's has shown that the body has
different times and conditions to
thoroughly digest the food we eat. The
length of time to digest the food will be
different for each individual, but
averages for a normal healthy person have
been determined......Of course, the
question is why should we care? Why we
should care is that slowing down or
stopping the digestion of foods in the
body has been shown to lead to many
health problems. Food sensitvities or
allergies, arthritis, high cholestrol,
heartburn, ulcers, constipation, sleep
problems, stress, diabetes, and obesity
are just some of the conditions that have
reportedly improved when proper food
combining has been followed. Proper
digestion also allows the body to obtain
the most nutrients and energy that it can
from the foods we eat. So it is very much
to our advantage to properly combine our
foods for maximum health......There are
several variations of food combining
theory, but some divisions seem very
standard. These divisions are summarized
in the tables and charts that follow...
